How easy is to deploy DB2 pureScale™ ?

Check out this article on DeveloperWorks! It provides a short overview of DB2 pureScale and presents a deployment scenario based on a configuration of two P6 550s servers connected to a DS5300 storage controller. Pretty interesting and, actually, it does sound easy.

Introduction of IBM PureScale Technology

This group will discuss the Purescale architecture from IBM. We will compare and contrast it with other mainstream very large scale database technologies.

DB2 pureScale on IBM Power Systems incorporates PowerHA pureScale technology to deliver high levels of database scalability and availability. This complements DB2 for z/OS and System z.

With DB2 pureScale, you don’t need to change your application code to efficiently run on multiple nodes. You can grow your application to meet the most demanding business requirements. You can also run applications written for other database software with little or no changes; DB2 offers native support for commonly used syntax and PL/SQL procedure language, making it easier to work with Oracle and DB2 languages at the same time.
